Help Someone Else's Boobs This Month

December 5th is International Volunteer Day a time to raise awareness of the importance and the power of volunteering both at home and abroad. I have volunteered at different points in my life and have always got so much out of it. This year I would like to ask you to do something great for your heart that would make a big difference for other women.

There are women's shelters across Canada (this website has links to shelters in each province) providing a safe place, guidance, support and supplies for women in dangerous circumstances. These shelters are always in need of help and supplies. This International Volunteer Day I would ask you to do one of two things:

1) Find a local shelter and volunteer even just one day of your time to make a difference to a woman in need in your community.
2) Donate one or more of your lightly used bras to a shelter.

Only women can understand what the right bra means
Having the right bra is important to every woman, but even more so for vulnerable women. When your financial circumstances don't allow for buying bras and your main priority is staying alive or protecting your children from abuse, investing in your own bra health falls by the wayside. Giving women's shelters good quality bras means they can pass on a fundamental physical and emotional support to women in need.

We will be donating bras to the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre and volunteering our time for another Christmas with Haro Park in Vancouver. Thank you for considering doing something wonderful this IVD... donating your time or bras will lift your spirits and boost someone else's confidence. xx
